The brief

Group One West is building a carbon-negative eco-resort and a Climate Research and Cultural Stewardship Institute on Vancouver Island. The project needed its story found and described accurately, and the founder had three books to sell without a marketplace taking a cut.

What we built

  • A rebuilt static site on Cloudflare with automated deploys from the client’s own repository, so everything stays in their hands.
  • A direct bookstore: pay-what-you-want checkout through Stripe, a per-buyer watermarked PDF and EPUB delivered by email, and look-inside previews.
  • Nothing held hostage. Every account, domain and key belongs to the client.

SEO and AEO

  • Technical SEO first. A duplicate domain was outranking the real site, so we retired it, fixed canonicals, sitemap, robots and indexing.
  • Organisation and Book schema, plus copy that names the project the same way everywhere, so AI answers describe it as it is instead of guessing.
  • Long-form pages that answer what a carbon-negative resort is before they ask for anything.
“Ask an AI about a carbon-negative resort on Vancouver Island and it describes exactly what we’re building.”Founder, Group One West
